경찰 "2021년, 코로나로 범죄 트렌드 바뀐다"

Changes are expected in next year's crime trends and patterns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report issued by a policy research institute run by the National Police Agency.

경찰청이 운영하는 한 정책연구소가 발표한 보고서에 따르면 코로나19의 대유행으로 인해 내년 범죄 트렌드와 패턴에 변화가 예상된다.

The report on 2021 crime trends, released Sunday by the Police Science Institute, said white-collar crimes such as fraud are expected to increase next year while the total number of crimes will decrease due to the impact of COVID-19.

치안정책연구소가 일요일 발표한 2021년 범죄 동향에 관한 이 보고서는 내년에 사기 등 지능형 범죄가 증가하는 반면 코로나바이러스의 영향으로 전체 범죄 수는 감소할 것으로 보인다고 밝혔다.

It also said the coronavirus crisis is expected to affect the pattern of crimes related to drug and sex offenses.

또한, 보고서는 코로나바이러스 사태가 마약 및 성범죄 범죄 패턴에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상된다고 밝혔다.

According to the report, there were 1.18 million crimes committed as of September this year, a decrease of 0.2 percent from the same period last year. But the total number of white-collar crimes was 315,206, up 13.8 percent from 2019.

해당 보고서에 따르면, 올해 1~9월 총 118만 건의 범죄가 발생했는데, 이는 지난해 같은 기간보다 0.2% 감소한 수치다. 그러나 지능범죄는 315,206건으로 작년보다 13.8%가 증가했다.

Of these cases, breach of trust and violation of the Check Control Act both decreased by 14 percent and 46.2 percent respectively, while fraud increased by 15.6 percent.

이 중 배임죄와 부정수표 단속법 위반 사건은 각각 14%, 46.2% 감소한 반면 사기죄는 15.6% 증가했다.
