Kang Daniel takes legal action against rumor-mongers

After singer Kang Daniel confirmed his romance with TWICE member Jihyo, KONNECT Entertainment said Tuesday it will take legal action against rumor-mongers and those making hate comments about the artist.

강다니엘이 트와이스 멤버 지효와의 열애 사실을 인정하자 강다니엘의 소속사 커넥트엔터테인먼트는 루머를 퍼뜨리거나 악성 댓글을 다는 네티즌들에 대해 법적 조처를 할 것이라고 밝혔다.

“Recently, there are illegal posts on Kang Daniel ― false information, sexual harassment, defamation, invasion of privacy, malicious rumors, etc. ― that are being posted recklessly,” the agency said. “The top priority is the artist and his family and fans, so we will take legal action against such posts.”

소속사는 “최근 강다니엘을 향한 허위 사실 유포, 성희롱, 명예훼손, 인신공격, 사생활 침해, 악성 루머 등의 불법 게시물이 무분별하게 게시되고 있다”며 “그 무엇보다 소속 아티스트와 가족, 팬 여러분에 대한 보호를 최우선이라 판단, 악성 게시물에 대해 법적 대응을 진행할 것을 알린다”라고 밝혔다.

Fans have supported the artist during his legal dispute with LM Entertainment to his solo debut, but when he confirmed his relationship, reactions varied. Some fans were thankful to Jihyo for being with him through the tough times while others felt deceived and regretted supporting Kang.

팬들은 강다니엘이 전 소속사인 LM엔터테인먼트와 법적 분쟁을 하는 동안 그를 지지해 왔지만, 열애 사실이 밝혀지자 다양한 반응을 보였다. 일부 팬들은 강다니엘의 힘든 시간을 함께해준 지효에게 고마워했고, 다른 팬들은 강다니엘에게 속았다고 느끼며 그동안의 후원 활동을 후회했다.

One fan said: “You'd better read the comments and reflect on them rather than planning a lawsuit.”

Jihyo's fans were more positive about the relationship, wishing them happiness. One said: “Jihyo, you have been doing well and your dating ban is lifted already.” Others commented on Kang's Instagram that they welcome him to their family.

Many netizens claimed that the relationship is private even though they are stars. One comment said: “Did they have an affair? A young couple in love, what is the matter?”
